World of Jacob picks up after World of Abraham. Jacob and his twin brother Esau grow up and take different paths in life. Esau shows no interest in the spiritual, but rather is very earthy while Jacob has a more spiritual bent. Thus Jacob becomes something of a mama’s boy while Esau becomes a hunter, a man of nature. There separate paths often crisscross and conflict arises. But the conflict over the Blessing threatens to destroy the family and forever split the brothers from one another. This is the story of Jacob, but underlying it is the story of Esau and his rise to power. Favored by Isaac, Esau nonetheless is denied the Blessing and goes into full rebellion. His violent lifestyle, multiple wives, and lust for power are driving forces in his life. What will happen when he meets his brother again? Meanwhile, his brother grows in family, wealth, and power. When he is called back to his home by God he faces the real prospect of meeting his brother who’d vowed to kill him. What can he do?This story is taken right out of the pages of the Bible. The author takes the facts and weaves an entertaining fictional account around them. It just might be the story behind the story!
